Abstract
Ultraviolet absorbing compounds having the following formaulae are presented. ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a saturated branched alkyl group having 7 carbon atoms, R.sup.2 is methyl or ethyl group and R.sup.3 is ortho-or para- methoxy group. These compounds have good ultraviolet protective properties and cause little or no irritation to human skin.
