Abstract
Flame retardant compositions are prepared from rubber-modified polyphenylene ether resins and a phosphinic acid of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is aryl, alkyl, cycloalkyl and beta-cyano-substituted alkyl, and R' is hydrogen or the same groups as R.
