Butadiene-styrene latex thickened with an emulsion containing a terpolymer derived from (1) methacrylic acid or ethacrylic acid; (2) a C.sub.1-8 alkylester of acrylic, methacrylic or ethacrylic acid, and; (3) acrylamide or styrene optionally nuclearly substituted by methyl or ethyl.
