Abstract
A photographic yellow coupler having a general formula selected from the group consisting of (I), (II) and (III) ##STR1## wherein A is a yellow coupler residue defined by removing one hydrogen atom of a active methylene group from a yellow coupler having the active methylene group; Q is a group having a formula selected from the group consisting of ##STR2## and ##STR3## (where X and Y are individually a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, acyl, aryl or aralkyl group; Z is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, aryl or aralkyl group; and R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are individually a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, aryl or aralkyl group or both of R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 together may form a benzylidene group or a cycloalkyl group); and Q' is a group of the formula --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 -- or ##STR4## (wherein R.sub.3 is a hydrogen or halogen atom or an alkoxy group; R.sub.4 is a hydrogen or halogen atom, an amino, acylamino, ureido, lower alkyl, alkoxy or hydroxy group; and R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are individually a lower alkyl group).
