Abstract

A propylene copolymer, which comprises units of (A) propylene, (B) a monomer selected from the group consisting of branched alpha-olefins (i.e. 4-methyl-1-pentene), styrene and styrene derivatives (e.g. methyl styrene), and (C) an optional monomer selected from the group consisting of straight-chain alpha-olefins of 2 to 12 carbon atoms other than propylene (e.g. ethylene), and which is defined by its thermal analysis data on a differential scanning calorimeter; and a process for producing the copolymer. Block copolymers are preferable.
