A reproduction machine having an operator console, a card reader, and a control with suitable RAM memory. Suitably marked cards are fed to the card reader and stored in RAM memory. The job exception feature allows the machine to be automatically condition to deviate from the normal reproduction run. Features are also programmed at the operator console. However, once a card has been inserted into the reader, the console inputs are inhibited until the sense card requirements are completed or the job is canceled.
