Abstract

Spiro-.DELTA..sup.3 -1,2,3-thiadiazolines of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.F represents a perfluoroalkyl group having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, each X and each Y is independently selected from the class consisting of hydrogen, halogens, lower alkyl, and halogen-substituted lower alkyl, Z is fluorine, chlorine, or bromine, p is an integer from 2 to 6, and n is either 1 or 2; and a method for the preparation of such compounds comprising the reaction of certain acylated perfluorinated aliphatic aldehyde hydrazones with a thionyl halide.
