Abstract

An antibacterial and antifungal composition comprising a mixture of (A) at least one member selected from the group consisting of dehydroacetic acid and its alkali metal salts and (B) at least one member selected from the group consisting of 2-pyridinethiol 1-oxide and its salts. The antibacterial and antifungal effects can be synergistically increased when the component (A) is employed in combination with the component (B).
