Abstract

This invention relates to a process for preparing nonionic glycidol-derived surfactants. Specifically C.sub.10 -C.sub.20 n-alkyl glyceryl ether alcohols containing from 1 to about 10 glyceryl units, are prepared by reacting crude glycidol and a C.sub.10 -C.sub.20 n-alkyl alcohol in the presence of a non-polar, non-reactive miscible solvent.
