Abstract

Compositions for application to the interior surface of the tread of a pneumatic tire to facilitate relative movement between contacting portions of the interior surface when the tire is driven deflated, comprise a polybutene, an acrylic polymer or a polyolefin as a gelling agent for the polybutene, and a particulate solid puncture sealing material. Preferred gelling agents are polyethylenes, especially a mixture of high density and low density polyethylenes. Examples of suitable puncture sealing materials are rubber crumb and wood flour.
