Abstract
For the production of matted outer layers of photographic silver halide recording materials particles of a copolymer of maleic acid anhydride and a C.sub.2 -C.sub.8 monoolefin are dispersed in an aqueous solution of a hydrophilic colloid and the dispersion thus formed is applied to one or both surfaces of the photographic recording material and the layer is dried.
