Abstract
Insecticidal agents containing, as active ingredients, imidazole derivatives or salts thereof. The imidazole derivatives have the formula ##STR1## where R.sup.1 denotes branched alkyl of 6 to 20 carbon atoms, linear alkyl of 6 to 16 carbon atoms, branched alkenyl of 10 to 20 carbon atoms, linear or branched alkynyl of 3 to 6 carbon atoms, 2-methyl-3-phenylpropyl or 2-methyl-3-phenylpropen-2-yl, phenyl being unsubstituted or mono- or polysubstituted by halogen or alkyl of 1 to 10 carbon atoms, and R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 denote hydrogen or methyl. These insecticidal agents are suitable as growth regulators and ovicides for controlling insects from the Lepidoptera, Coleoptera, Diptera, Hymenoptera, Heteroptera, Homoptera and Isoptera classes.
