Abstract

A photographic material comprising a support and at least one silver halide emulsion layer coated thereon, which material comprises a compound represented by the following general formula [I]: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 individually represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, alkenyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, or R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 represent nonmetal atoms necessary for forming by their mutual linkage a 5- or 6-membered ring, and R.sup.4 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, alkenyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group or a group of the general formula ##STR2## wherein X represents the group --(CH.sub.2).sub.n -- wherein n is an integer from 0 to 4, or an allylene group.
