Abstract

The process of forming a dye image by developing an image-exposed silver halide photographic emulsion layer by an aromatic primary amine color developing agent in the presence of the yellow dye forming coupler shown by the general formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents an aromatic group, R.sup.2 represents an aromatic group or a heterocyclic group, and Z represents the non-metallic atom or atoms necessary for forming a 4-membered ring, a 5-membered ring or a 6-membered ring together with ##STR2## in the above formula. A photographic element containing such a yellow-forming coupler.
