Abstract
The invention relates to the method for producing internally plasticized poly(vinyl chloride) suitable for the purposes of earth insulation and medical care. The production method according to the invention consists in the polymerization or copolymerization of vinyl chloride in an aqueous dispersion medium in the presence of up to 50 weight %, related to vinyl chloride, of a polymeric plasticizer prepared by polyesterification of dicarboxylic acids and diols. If desired, the polymerization can be carried out also in the presence of up to 12 weight % of alkyl esters of cyanuric acid and/or the copolymer of ethylene with vinyl acetate as the stabilizers of polymer-chain structure. The polymerization is carried out to the conversion of vinyl chloride 55 to 94% at temperature -20.degree. to +80.degree. C. in the presence of an emulsifier and the resulting polymer is isolated and worked up in the known way.
