Abstract

The disclosure relates to copolymers of olefin monomers having from 2 to about 4 carbon atoms and .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated polycarboxylic anhydrides having from 4 to about 6 carbon atoms, having an average molecular weight of from about 300 to about 1500, and derivatized to contain both a half-amide, half-carboxylate salt function and an imide function in which said imide function comprises from about 5% to about 40% of said derivatized function. The utility of these copolymers in the management of tumor therapy to prevent tumor recurrence or development of metastases by an immunoregulatory mechanism has been demonstrated in rats and mice.
