Abstract
There is provided a gelatin-hardening compound of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a phenyl group, an acyl group represented by ##STR2## (where R.sub.1 is an alkyl, phenyl, alkenyl, alkoxy or amino group), a carbamoyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group or a sulfonyl group represented by ##STR3## (where R.sub.2 is an alkyl or phenyl group), which gives an improved mechanical strength to the gelatin-containing photographic layer.
