Abstract
A stable, pumpable suspension of a calcium carbonate mineral is prepared by a method which includes the step of removing abrasive particles from a deflocculated, concentrated aqueous suspension of the calcium carbonate mineral by centrifuging the suspension at a solids content of at least 65% by weight under conditions such that the quantity of particles in said suspension having an equivalent spherical diameter larger than 10 .mu.m is reduced.
