Abstract
The invention relates to polymeric coating compositions which are long-lived colloidal suspensions or dispersions in water. Polyesters, polyesterimides, polyesteramides, polyesteramideimides, polyester hydantoins and polyester urethanes are prepared. Amine material is added to the basic composition and reacted in such amounts that a colloidal dispersion is formed with water. The coating compositions are particularly useful as electric insulating coatings or wire enamels which are readily coated on a metallic or other substrate and when cured form coatings having good electrical and physical properties.
