Abstract
A positioning member is moved transverse to a slide fastener chain after advancement of the slide fastener chain to a gapping and stop applying station to position fastening elements of the slide fastener chain in a channel extending in the station. The slide fastener chain is clamped and gapped, and a bottom stop is applied to the chain.
