Abstract

A 2-alkoxyalkoxy-5-aminobenzenesulfonic acid represented by the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents an alkylene group having 2 or more carbon atoms; and R.sup.2 represents an alkyl group. The compound can be used as an intermediate in the production of a dye releasing redox compound.
