Abstract

The present invention provides new derivatives of mitomycin C, represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein R represents a hydroxy group in which case the composition is designated as 7-N-(p-hydroxyphenyl)-mitomycin C or an amino group in which case it is designated as 7-N-(p-aminophenyl)-mitomycin C. The new compounds are produced by reacting mitomycin A with p-aminophenyl or p-phenylenediamine and exhibit good antitumor and antibacterial activities.
