Abstract
Novel magenta forming color couplers for use in silver halide color photography are described which correspond to the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents hydrogen, alkyl or aryl; R.sub.2 represents fluoroalkyl, cyanoalkyl or phenyl; X is hydrogen or a displaceable group; Ar represents phenylene and Y represents alkyl, aryl, alkylamino, arylamino or alkylarylamino.
