Reactive oligomers obtainable by reacting .alpha.-substituted acrylic acid derivatives and tetra-aryl succinic acid dinitriles do excellently work as non-peroxidic initiators for curing radically polymerizable compounds and compositions, particularly unsaturated polyester resins.
