Abstract

A process for the polymerization of ethylene and optionally further .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated monomers at temperatures of from 100.degree. to 350.degree. C. and at pressures of from 600 to 3500 in the presence of 1,2 diaryl glycols atoms or 1,2-diaryl glycol alkyl ethers as initiators.
