Abstract

A method of protecting keratinous material from attack by insects that feed on keratin and from feeding damage, which comprises treating the material to be protected with compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein each of R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 independently represents hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or alkoxy of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 in the ortho-position to each other together represent the methylenedioxy radical, and R.sub.3 represents hydrogen, cyano, --C.tbd.CH of --CH.dbd.CH.sub.2.
