Abstract

In a pressure sensitive recording sheet comprising a layer of microcapsules containing a color former and a color developer, said layer of microcapsules and said color developer being on the same or independent supports, the improvement which comprises said developer being a polyvalent metal salt of a substituted salicylic acid represented by the general formulae (I) or (II): ##STR1## wherein R represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aralkyl group or an aryl group, R.sub.1 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group and Ar and Ar' which may be the same or different each represents an aryl group.
