Abstract

A method is provided for lowering the gastric acidity in the patient by administering to said patient an effective amount of 5-(2-dimethylamino-ethyl)-cis-2-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-4-oxo-2,3-dihydro-5H-1, 5-benzothiazepin-3-yl acetate or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to reduce said gastric acidity.
