Abstract

A dielectric composition devoid of filler and resistant to water treeing comprising ethylene polymer, antioxidant for said polymer, and effective amounts, as a water treeing inhibitor, of at least one organo silane of the following formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alkyl; Y is C.sub.1 to C.sub.8 alkylene or C.sub.6 to C.sub.18 substituted or unsubstituted arylene; R.sub.2 is C.sub.1 to C.sub.8 alkyl, C.sub.1 to C.sub.8 alkoxy, C.sub.6 to C.sub.18 substituted or unsubstituted aryl, C.sub.1 to C.sub.8 acyloxy, C.sub.6 to C.sub.18 substituted or unsubstituted aryloxy; R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are independently selected from C.sub.1 to C.sub.8 alkoxy, C.sub.1 to C.sub.8 acyloxy or C.sub.6 to C.sub.18 substituted or unsubstituted aryloxy.
