Abstract
Phenolphthalein-dihydroxy aromatic compound polycarbonates are disclosed wherein the mole ratio of phenolphthalein to dihydroxy aromatic compound is in the range from about 0.05 to about 0.7 and the weight average molecular weight range is from about 25,000 to about 50,000 as determined by gel permeation chromatography. These copolymers exhibit improved impact strength, heat resistance, creep resistance, tensile strength at high temperates and stress crack resistance.
