Abstract

A process for fermentatively producing vitamin B.sub.12, which comprises cultivating a vitamin B.sub.12 -producing microorganism belonging to at least one of the genus Arthrobacter and the genus Propionibacterium in the presence of a pre-cultivation product of a vitamin B.sub.12 -producing microorganism belonging to at least the other genus, and separating vitamin B.sub.12 from the culture broth.
