Abstract

A process for coating an article is provided herein, which process comprises subjecting an article to a powder electrodeposition in a bath containing a water-thinnable cationic synthetic resin and a synthetic resin in the form of a fine powder, and then subjecting the thus coated material, without hardening the formed coating, to an additional electrodeposition in a bath containing an ionic synthetic resin and baking the coated article to effect cross-linking and hardening between the resins; the improvement step which is characterized in spraying hot water of more than 50.degree. C. onto the coated film after finishing the first half powder electrodeposition, but before carrying out the second half electrodeposition step.
