Abstract

A method of providing a row of loops at each end of a forming fabric or a similar fabric, comprising two layers of weft threads, warp threads interconnecting the weft layers, and a locking wire intended to interconnect said rows of loops to form an endless fabric web. The weft threads in a first zone closest to one end edge of the fabric are permanently removed, whereafter the weft threads in an adjacent second zone are temporarily removed and the temporarily removed, or alternatively a corresponding number of weft threads, as well as one or several thin folding wires and one coarse folding wire are arranged as a warp in a loom-like sewing machine known per se, wherein said coarse wire temporarily replaces the locking wire intended finally to interconnect the two fabric end edges.
