Abstract

Styrene and acrylic acid or methacrylic acid copolymers can be devolatilized at a temperature above 200.degree. C. and below the decomposition temperature of the copolymer under vacuum in the presence of a monohydric compound such as alcohol or water without significant increase in molecular weight or the formation of undesirable and insoluble gels.
