Abstract

The corrosive effect of toothpaste on aluminum is prevented by incorporating in the toothpaste about 0.05% to about 5% by weight of a synthetic alkali metal aluminum silicate zeolite. Toothpaste containing a zeolite of the empirical formula Na.sub.12 (AlO.sub.2).sub.12.(SiO.sub.2).sub.12.27H.sub.2 O is particularly useful.
