Abstract
A method is provided for stretching and releasing from a mold an integrally molded thermoplastic resin stopper device. The stopper device has a filament portion, a head portion on one end of said filament portion and a crossbar portion on the other end of the filament portion. The head portion has an end part side faces and an end face. The mold includes a first mold means surrounding the crossbar portion of the stopper device, a second mold means surrounding the filament portion and end phase of the head portion of the stopper device, and a third mold means surrounding the side faces and end part of the head portion. The third mold means has separable upper and lower mold portions. The method of stretching and releasing the stopper device from the mold comprises separating the second and third mold means by moving at least one of the second and third mold means away from the other in a direction along the axis of the filament portion of the stopper device, with the side faces and end part of the head being adhered to the third mold means, such that the filament is stretched in its axial direction. The movement of one of the upper and lower portions of the third mold means is stopped and the movement of the other is continued, thereby separating the side faces and end part of the head portion from the one of the upper or lower portions of the third mold means which is moved. The stopper device is then separated from the other of the upper and lower portions of the third mold means and from the first and second mold means, thereby releasing the stopper device from the mold.
