Abstract

Anthranilates of the formula ##STR1## wherein each R is hydrogen or ##STR2## each n is the number 2, 3 or 4, y is nought or 1 and X is an alkylene radical having 1 to 8 C atoms, meta- or para-phenylene or meta- or para-cyclohexylene, are obtained by reacting a hydroxyalkylated dicarboxylic acid diamide of the formula ##STR3## wherein each R is hydrogen or --CH.sub.2).sub.n OH and n, y and X are as defined above, with isatoic anhydride, preferably in the presence of an alkaline catalyst. The novel compounds are valuable chain extenders and crosslinking agents for the production of polyurethanes and polyurea resins and are also suitable as curing agents for epoxide resins.
