Abstract
A dentifrice composition is provided which contains a compound having the formula (R.sub.f).sub.m YX wherein R.sub.f is a fluoroaliphatic radical having from about 4 to 16 carbon atoms; Y is a calcium-complexing moiety; X is a terminal group which does not interfere with the complexing ability of said calcium-complexing moiety; and m is an integer of at least one. A method of inhibiting plaque formation in an oral environment is also provided.
