Abstract
A new compound which is useful as an antibacterial agent or a synthetic intermediate thereof and has the general formula: ##STR1## (wherein R is hydrogen, benzyloxycarbonyl or t-butyloxycarbonyl) is produced by reacting the compound XK-88-5 with an urethane-type amino-protecting reagent.
