Abstract

In the repeated production of a fuel cell component consisting of a uniform mixture of an electrocatalyst and a wetproofing agent, an aqueous colloidal fluorinated hydrocarbon resin dispersion is rapidly and reproducibly flocculated, preferably in less than 5 minutes, in the presence of an aqueous suspension of a novel platinum-on-carbon electrocatalyst by means of a polycationic salt solution, the salt concentration being preferably between 10.sup.-3 and 10.sup.-6 molar.
