Abstract
A method of driving a memory panel having first electrode, second electrode, third electrode for discharging upon application of an applied voltage for first discharge via first discharge space between first and third electrodes and for discharging upon application of an applied voltage for second discharge via second discharge space forming part of first discharge space between second and third electrodes, a plurality of gas discharge cells filled sealingly with discharging gas in said respective discharge spaces, and series resistors provided in said respective third electrodes, comprising a step of varying the applied voltage for first or second discharge spaces or both voltages therefor in such a manner that a self-supporting discharge exists only in either one of said first and second discharge spaces.
