Abstract
A process for the production of glucose from cellulose containing raw material by steam treatment at a temperature from 160.degree. to 230.degree. C. for from 2 minutes to 4 hours followed by lixiviation with aqueous alkali and acid or enzymatic hydrolysis of fibrinous residue.
