Abstract
A method of forming a buttonhole pattern including two spaced-apart rows of zig zag stitches so that each row is formed in a like manner includes sewing a row of narrow zig zag cording stitches in a first direction and subsequently covering the cording stitches with one of the parallel rows of zig zag stitches formed in a second direction and repeating these steps for the second of the parallel rows.
