Abstract
A wiper assembly for cleaning the rear window of an automotive vehicle includes a closed housing in which the electromotor and the transmission for the swinging drive of the wiper shaft are located. The wiper shaft projects from a self-supporting housing portion at a predetermined distance from the fastening means. The unit can be mounted outside of the body of an automotive vehicle in a way that the wiper shaft points to the window to be cleaned and thereby a wiping angle of 180.degree. can be attained.
