Abstract

Concentrated aqueous solution of acrylamide or mixture of acrylamide and other vinyl monomer is polymerized in the presence of catalyst, and the polymerization solution is to be boiled by heat of polymerization in the course of polymerization. Obtained hydrous gels of acrylamide polymers are porous, water soluble and are easily dehydrated by conventional dehydration techniques.
