Abstract
A process for separation of water and cyclic hydrocarbons from a gas mixture containing hydrogen, methane, water and cyclic hydrocarbons. An adsorption zone is provided including two adsorbent beds connected in series, one of the beds containing an adsorbent selective for cyclic hydrocarbons and the other bed containing an adsorbent selective for water. Following the passage of gas mixture through the beds, the bed containing cyclic hydrocarbon-selective adsorbent is regenerated with hydrogen-rich purge gas and the bed containing water-selective adsorbent is regenerated with aliphatic hydrocarbon-rich purge gas.
