Abstract

On a shear machine having a ram, a work table, and a hold-down means to grip work to the work table, a hydraulically sequenced circuit to inhibit the downstroke of the ram until a sufficient hold-down pressure has been achieved at the hold-down means to effectively grip the work to be operated upon, and a booster cylinder responsive to the down-stroke of the ram for maintaining the pressure at the hold-down means during the cutting stroke of the ram.
