Abstract
Ziegler catalytic system comprising an organo-metallic compound of a metal of Groups I to III of the Periodic System and a compound of a heavy metal of Groups IV to VI supported on an alumina carrier, the latter being an activated amorphous alumina containing from 0.3 to 30% by weight of salts of aluminum with oxygenated inorganic anions, or of a mixture of the latter with salts of aluminum with non-oxygenated inorganic anions, said carrier being prepared by precipitating an alumina gel at a pH value of 7-10, introducing the inorganic anions into said gel, drying said gel and calcining the resulting amorphous alumina at 250.degree.-700.degree.
