Abstract
A method of treating herpes simplex infection in warm-blooded animals by administering to said animals an amide of phosphonoacetic acid of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is C.sub.2 -C.sub.10 alkyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 cycloalkyl, benzyl, or adamantyl; and R' is H or C.sub.2 -C.sub.10 alkyl, or its inorganic salts.
