Cyan couplers of the 2-equivalent type having the formula ##STR1## wherein C.sub.p, R.sub.1 -R.sub.6, Z, n, p and q are herein defined are described. These couplers are useful in photography, and photographic materials and developers incorporating these couplers are also described.
